Countdown: 10 days until Reunion Night!

Reminder: The deadline to purchase you ticket for the reunion is this Friday, September 5, 2003, by 5:00 p.m. If you pay after the deadline, the price goes up $10.

WE’VE GOT SPIRIT, YES WE DO!!!

For those of you who would like to take that stroll down “Memory Lane” and visit Long Beach Poly High School, you may do so on Friday, September 12, 2003. Poly’s current principal, Shawn Ashley, has given us the okay to do so – but you will need to mention you are from the Class of 1973’s 30 Year Reunion to be allowed on campus as a visitor. What better time to check out the school and reminisce about your school days at Poly High!

Also on campus during the lunch break (approximately 11:50 – 12:30 p.m.), the PTA will have a table set up in front of the 100 Building where they will be selling “Poly Spirit Wear.” If you missed out in buying any of these items back in the days when we were going to school… now is your chance to do so!

That leads to another event…

We all love and remember the Poly football games! Poly High’s Pre Season Game No. 1 (Poly vs. Mayfair) will take place at Long Beach Veterans Memorial Stadium, Friday evening, September 12, 2003. The game starts at 7:00 p.m.

Many of us plan to mosey on down there after the Friday Night Mixer -- just in time for half time. An announcement at the end of half-time will be made that “The Class of 1973 is in the house!” Let’s all try to be there to show our support for our team and that still (after 30 years), WE’VE GOT SPIRIT! We plan to meet at 8:00 p.m. near the bottom of Ramp No. 5 (just after going through the turnstiles). Let’s all sit together! Otherwise, it will be too crazy to find each other once you go up the ramp and into the stadium.

This particular game will be “American Flag Night” and flags will be given to the first 500 paid ticket holders. The cost for the game is $5 for adults, $2 for children – a small price to pay for a lot of fun!
