SPECIAL AWARDS WINNERS
The recipients of these awards were selected based upon answers submitted on either the reunion’s reservation form or the website’s awards questionnaire form. A predetermined deadline was set for submitting answers and the winners were chosen based upon information the committee had received. This was all in great fun and we appreciate your good sportsmanship in its humor. If you did not win this time… maybe next time!
Congratulations to the following
people for winning achievement awards on reunion night!

JONES AWARD (Most Adventurous) |
Winner: Stephanie
Auditor-Fujihara Answer: Getting into the water with only a snorkel and mask to witness a "shark feed" off the coral reefs in Bora Bora, Tahiti. The only thing between the sharks and me was a tie-off rope that I was hanging on to so I would not be swept away by the current. While the Tahitian guide was feeding large chunks of fish to the sharks, I began to count them. At number 13, I stopped and lost count because the feeding frenzy intensified and more sharks were arriving from all directions. Enough adventure for one day... I got out of the water and back into the outrigger canoe! Received: Award Certificate, plus Indiana Jones action figurine. |

REEVES AWARD (Most Inspirational in Overcoming Adversity) |
Winner: Cheryl
(Coleman) von der Hellen Answer: Suffered a severe head injury and had to regain some sort of normalcy. It took a good year to get back and I have needed to learn to cope with deafness in one ear, problems with vertigo, and the loss of smell. Food is not all that interesting when you can't smell because without smell, you can't taste! I am a much better person today because of this - I had to look at me, what was important in my life, and put the pieces back together again. The advantage I had was that I was able to put me back together. I had the choice of who I was going to be. Through many tears and doubts, I made it! Received: Award Certificate, plus angel wings and halo. |
